Workaround Avamar 6.1.2_47 – repl_cron replication issue – Error writing 32-byte header to cache file

found a bug in Avamar 6.1.2_47 with automatic replication / Repl_cron

Replication seems to fail.
When looking a the /usr/local/avamar/var/cron/replicate.log, you will see following entries:

2013/11/07-20:01:51 avtar FATAL <5225>: Unable to open hash cache in directory ‘/usr/local/avamar/var’
EMC support confirmed this is a bug in Avamar 6.1.2_47 and should be solved in Avamar 7.
Cause: admin ownership of p_cache files
